Little Beehive and Lake Agnes
Distance: 9 km (5.6 mi) round trip

If you’ve heard of one hike to do in Banff, it’s probably the teahouse at Lake Agnes. Many tourists miss out on the stunning viewpoint over Lake Louise, the Victoria Glacier, and the surrounding peaks by ending the hike at the teahouse. This trail takes you past Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes before ascending to the Little Beehive viewpoint. Best of all? It still passes through the teahouse, where you can get some sweet treats or enjoy a beverage.
Peyto Lake
Distance: 2.7 km (1.7 mi) round trip

A short hike to one of Banff’s most famous viewpoints. The trail takes you to a stunning overlook where you can see the vibrant blue waters of Peyto Lake framed by rugged mountains. The short distance of this hike makes it suitable for those of all ages. Be sure to also check out Bow Lake, just minutes before the turnoff. You can wander along the shore of Bow Lake, or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy there.
Prairie View Trail

Offering panoramic views of Barrier Lake and the surrounding mountains, the Prairie View Trail in Kananaskis is a moderate hike with rewarding vistas, especially beautiful in the fall. The best part is that the views are still beautiful even if you don’t go all the way up, so no effort is left unrewarded. Barrier Lake itself is also nice to wander around.
Rawson Lake

Located in Kananaskis, this trail begins at the Upper Kananaskis Lake parking area and leads to the serene Rawson Lake, surrounded by towering peaks. It’s a peaceful hike through the forest, and there’s plenty of room around the lakeshore to enjoy your lunch.

Lake Minnewanka to Stewart Canyon

This short, scenic hike follows the shoreline of Lake Minnewanka to Stewart Canyon. The trail is pretty flat and offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Walking around Lake Minnewanka itself is beautiful, so you don’t need to go all the way to Stewart Canyon to make the journey here worthwhile.
Moraine Lake Shoreline
