about me

Growing up and living in Banff, I’ve had the privilege of exploring its trails, scaling its peaks, and creating memories against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks and turquoise lakes. Blessed with the rare opportunity to travel to distant lands like Vietnam and the Galapagos Islands as a child, I was given an insatiable curiosity for the world beyond my small town.

Consumed by depression in my teenage years, I started creating a bucket list. The idea of solo travel had been equally terrifying but exciting: a surefire sign it was something I needed to do. With the plan to cross off going on a safari and skydiving from my list, I embarked on my first solo trip to South Africa at 19. This sparked a series of solo adventures, often centered around adventure, hiking, nature, and scuba diving.

Originally intending to embark on a gap year after completing my bachelor’s degree in computer science, the Covid-19 pandemic altered my plans. After working as a software engineer for a few years in New York City, I finally seized the opportunity to quit my job and embark on that trip of adventure and exploration. Here, I document my journey and share itineraries and hiking guides for some of my favorite places.
